Welcome to another Friday update for the 300\400Block of N Washington Streetscape project. We had another good week of cooperative weather which allowed the contractors to get more work done. In particular some of the accomplishments of the week were pouring of the last pieces of sidewalk on the southern end of the 300 block, prepped areas for the paver brick footings, and placed asphalt along the new curb and gutter on the 400 block. Next week’s look ahead is as follows: · Prep and form for tree wells and light foundations on the 400 block · Prep and form for the paver brick strips on the 400 block as well as the south end of the 300 block · Possibly pouring of the tree wells, light foundations and paver brick areas. · May start on placement of brick pavers. Starting next week the contractors will try to work as much as possible within the parking spaces so as not to have the need for complete street closure but may need to close the block for short periods particularly if a concrete truck is present. Also there will be a day probably two weeks out or so where the 300 block and then the 400 block will need to be closed to all traffic to allow for the crosswalks to be restriped. I will send an email out giving 48 hours’ notice of this activity as it will require all cars to be removed from the closed block due to the curing time of the striping. Any cars left inside the closure will not be allowed to exit until the striping is cured (typically 2 to 4 hours.) As I stated I will give everyone ample notice of when that will happen (most likely towards the end of August right now). As always if there are any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to call me or send me an email. Enjoy your weekend. Eric G.
